Days of the week and months of the year (English and Hindi)
Children learn the days of the week in Class 1 and the months of the year in Class 2, then use a calendar in Class 3. Knowing the order, and how many days each month has, is the base for reading any calendar.
Say the lists aloud in order, then out of order: "Which day comes after Thursday?", "Which month comes before August?"

Remember
Knuckle trick: count the months on your knuckles and the dips between them. Knuckle months have 31 days; dip months have 30, except February.
A week has 7 days. A year has 12 months and 365 days (366 in a leap year).
How to use this chart at home

- A week has 7 days, a year has 12 months and 365 days (366 in a leap year, every four years).
- Ask about real life: "What day is today? What was yesterday? What month is your birthday in?"
- Weekdays are Monday to Friday; Saturday and Sunday are the weekend. In Hindi, गुरुवार is also called बृहस्पतिवार.
