Opposites (antonyms; Hindi: विलोम शब्द) are words with the opposite meaning: hot and cold, up and down. Children meet them in Class 1 and 2 English and Hindi, and they are a favourite in worksheets and class tests.
Learn them in pairs, with actions: stand up, sit down; open the box, close the box. A word can have more than one opposite (short is the opposite of both tall and long).
